Glymm - February 2013

What is Glymm?

Glymm is a beauty subscription service that provides you with 4-5 product samples each month. Right now, the monthly subscription price is CAD$15.00. It is currently available in Canada. I subscribed to Glymm on November 2012. I signed up for a yearly membership with the PolishMeUp Promo. My yearly subscription is only $120 which turns out to be just $10/month + tax.

What is the PolishMeUp Promo?

This promotion is available at that time for customers who would get the yearly membership. So aside from the products that you would get each month, you would also get 1 full sized nail polish in your box. This is actually the main reason why I subscribed to Glymm, the free nail polish!

February Box

I received my box on March 5th. Before, Glymm shipped the boxes on the week of the 10th of each month and I used to receive the box every 3rd week of the month. But due to recent changes, they started shipping at the end of the month and that's the reason why I received the box on March. I really don't mind if I don't get my February box in February. As long as I'm getting my box for every month, I'm good. Usually the bags are just plain color, but for February's bag, it has some heart prints on it. It looks cute but it's not something that I want to put on my purse because the design is just not me. I would probably use this at home to organize some of my stuff.

There is also a product catalog for each bag. This is where you will see some quick information about the products that you received for the month. For the February box there is also a discount card included. All Glymm members can get 50% off for ShinySet Subscription. This is not something that I'm going to use as I am not interested in jewelry subscription service. I also got a hear-shaped lollipop. It's probably for Valentine's Day but because the box came the month after, it didn't get the chance to do it's purpose, lol!

Femme Couture Monster Gloss Super Shine Lipgloss

I got the shade in Angel Kisses. I absolutely love the scent of this gloss. It smells so sweet and smells like vanilla. It's a clear gloss with pink micro glitters which is perfect if you want a subtle look on your lips. What I don't like about this product is the packaging. It's like a jumbo stick with a ridiculously sized applicator.  

Purely Pro Eye shadow

I got a matte taupe eye shadow. This shade is called Luxury. It is very pigmented so a little product goes a long way. I'm not really a makeup person but I appreciate getting this type of products in my bags because I also like trying out new products. This shade is something that I can use because it's just right for my skin tone.

Villainess Ginger Snapped Bar Soap

Based on the packaging, the scent of this is a slightly psychotic blend of sweet cinnamon, rich cardamom, spicy ginger and a faint touch of innocent vanilla. The soap smells really nice but when I tried using it the smell goes away. When I dried my hands I can hardly smell the product. The scent is not like the one that you could smell in the product itself.  I would've appreciated it more if it actually leaves the nice scent on my skin.

NailUV Gel Polish

I wasn't really excited when I saw this product. I have never tried gel polish and I don't think I'll be interested in trying it out. I like doing my nails and changing polish color at least once a week and the fact that gel polish stays for at least 2 weeks doesn't entice me. The color that I got is called Berry Sweetie. It is a pink shimmer polish. The smell is strong too. I don't know if that's really how gel polishes smell like. I have a swatch of it at the end of the post.

The New Black Nail Polish

I got 2 polishes this month. The first shade is a red jelly with red micro glitters. The second one is a lavender crème nail polish. I don't have any information about the name of the polishes. The New Black nail polish  are packaged in a tiny bottle and are usually sold in packages of 3. I'm supposed to get 1 full sized nail polish but because The New Black polishes are small, I got 2 polishes instead. I'm happy with the shades that I got and I will definitely use them.

Overall, I'm impressed with this month's box. I'm excited to use the lipgloss and the polishes. Glymm's February bag also has some full sized products which is great. The bag is definitely more than $10 which is the price of my subscription
